Pop
Willits
Mr. Gleeson also remembered, when thinking of
Hopkins
Pond, how the Willits family, owners of the coal and lumber yard
on
Euclid
Avenue, had an offspring who was always shabby in his dress and
always
needed a bath. He was really a very disreputable character
and
everyone
called him Pop Willits. One day the fellows grabbed him,
took him
down to the pond and gave him a good bath.
